Dietary Department at Newark Extended Care Facility

Under the direction of Licensed Dieticians and Food Services Managers, our Dietary Department prepares nutritious meals, ensuring each resident's specific dietary needs are met. On a daily basis, we serve wholesome, well-balanced meals including seasonal fresh fruit.

We offer alternative menu options, as well as "Restaurant Style" dining.

We pride ourselves on the special seasonal meals that our residents always get excited about! Some of these seasonal meals (which may vary) include:

  • Summertime cook-outs consisting of BBQ ribs, hamburgers and cheesburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, etc.
  • Thanksgiving Feast which includes roasted turkey with ALL of the trimmings (sweet potato, stuffing, corn, macaroni and cheese, corn bread, etc.)

  • Christmas Dinner, which includes Cornish Hens, Macaroni and Cheese, and much more.
  • Last and certainly NOT least, an ALL TIME FAVORITE here: Soul Food Day, which includes juicy fried chicken, pigs feet, neck bones, collard greens, black-eyed peas, corn bread, etc.

Our residents continuously particpate in menu planning activities and food preferences are certainly given special attention. Overall patient satisfaction is our number one goal.
