Newark Extended Care is alive with the sound of music! In addition to our ambient music, which includes Motown, R&B, jazz, new age, and classical music, Newark Extended Care has a certified music therapist. Music therapists assess each patient's emotional well-being, physical health, social functioning, communication abilities, and cognitive skills through musical responses. Music Therapy is used with residents to increase and/or maintain their level of physical, mental, and social/emotional functioning. The sensory and intellectual stimulation of music can help maintain a person's quality of life.
