Besides having plants throughout our building and an outdoor roof garden, which will be ready this spring, Newark Extended Care has bi-monthly Plant Therapists come to our facility to work with our residents. Horticulture or Plant Therapy is a process utilizing plants and horticultural activities to improve social, educational, psychological and physical adjustment of persons thus improving their body, mind, and spirit.
