Our comprehensive sub-acute medical rehabilitation program offers patients physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Our rehabilitation department consists of highly qualified therapists with years of rehabilitation experience. Additionally, our state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym is equipped with the latest in rehabilitation technology.

Residents receiving rehabilitation therapy may be post-operative for stroke, fracture or joint replacement and will receive an intensive course of therapy. The goal of the treatment team at Newark Extended Care Facility is to maximize and restore each individual to his or her optimum level of function. Additionally, individuals with stroke or neurological disorders, who experience loss of swallowing (dysphasia), will be placed on special programs to aid in the return of function.
