Social Services at Newark Extended Care Facility

Even before admission to NECF, our Admissions Department and Social Service staff begin working to ensure our residents acclimate to their new environment.  Our experienced Social Workers meet with families and residents to educate them regarding services available within 24 hours of admission to the facility.  They also deal with any adjustments that may arise during their stay and monitor their progress.  Our Social Work team has a unique and strong passion to help with everyday problems, such as family issues, as well as address psychological and social needs. They are on hand to  make sure the rights of the residents are upheld, as well as deal with issues such as adjustment disorder, grief, and depression. They facilitate support groups, offer suggestions about housing, plan and arrange safe discharges, and find resources and services. Our Social Workers provide individual therapy, group therapy and seminars to guide residents through life's many challenges.

Our social workers are also available to assist with the completion of all applications, including Medicare and Medicaid insurance.
